OUR STORY
At Freedom From Chains Recovery Ministries, we help people break free from addiction, prison, and shame through faith, recovery, and second chances. Bobby and Angela are building the Life Recovery Campus to provide more than housing—a safe, faith-centered environment where individuals can heal, grow, and rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose. The campus will offer counseling, recovery programs, job readiness training, and community partnerships.
🔗 My Story of a Second Chance
I know what it feels like to be broken, lost, and stuck in cycles of pain. For years, I tried to escape childhood trauma and heartache through drugs and bad decisions. That road led me to jail, shame, and the belief that my life would never change.
But in the darkest place, God’s light found me. While I was incarcerated, I opened a Bible, began to pray, and connected with others who shared their faith. That was the beginning of my freedom. Jesus showed me that I wasn’t forgotten—that my life still had purpose. Today, I am walking in that freedom, serving others through Freedom From Chains Recovery Ministry, and helping people discover that second chances are real.
💡 Living Proof of Grace
If God can restore me, He can restore anyone. Each testimony of recovery and restoration is proof that second chances are possible. You don’t have to be perfect to receive one—you just have to be willing to believe that change is possible.
WHEN YOU COME HOME FROM PRISON
Prison did not just take my freedom.
It took my confidence.
It took my identity.
It took my hope.
But the hardest part wasn’t prison.
The hardest part was coming home.
I know what it feels like to walk out of prison.
Everyone thinks freedom feels good — but the truth is, it feels scary. It feels empty. It feels overwhelming.
You walk out with a bag, maybe some papers, and a thousand fears in your heart.
No home.
No phone.
No ID.
No job.
No money.
Just the pressure to “do better” without any real support to help you do it.
I know what it feels like to look around and realize the world kept moving while you were gone. Technology changed. People changed. Life changed. And you are expected to just catch up.
I know what it feels like to want to do right but not know where to start.
I know the fear of making one mistake and losing everything again.
I know the shame that follows you into job applications, into conversations, into rooms where you feel like everyone can see your past even when you don’t say it.
I know how lonely it is.
I know how survival mode feels safer than hope.
I know how easy it is to go back to what numbs the pain instead of facing the pain.
People don’t return to prison because they don’t care.
They return because they feel alone, ashamed, overwhelmed, and unsupported.
Where God Met Me
But God did not give up on me.
In my brokenness, He met me — not with judgment, not with condemnation, but with grace.
He reminded me that I was not my worst decision.
He reminded me that I was still His.
He reminded me that my life still had purpose.
Slowly, He began healing what I had buried.
Slowly, He restored what life tried to destroy.
Slowly, He showed me that chains are not permanent.
God did not just heal me — He called me.
He showed me that my pain had a purpose.
That my story had an assignment.
That my survival would become someone else’s hope.
Why Freedom From Chains Exists
Freedom From Chains Life Recovery Ministry was born from my testimony.
It exists because I know what it feels like to come home with nothing.
It exists because I know what it feels like to feel invisible.
It exists because I know what it feels like to believe you are beyond repair.
And it exists because I also know what it feels like when God restores what was lost.
This ministry exists so no one has to walk that road alone.
Who I Am Today
Today, I stand not as a perfect woman — but as a healed woman in progress.
I still grow.
I still learn.
I still lean on God every day.
But I also stand as proof:
Chains can be broken.
Lives can be restored.
Purpose can rise from pain.
If God can use my story, He can use anyone’s.
And I will spend my life reminding people of that truth. That We do matter ....
